Live frugally & prioritize spending

Keep your eye on every penny. This does not mean that you have to give up your weekly dinner at your favorite restaurant, your Steve Madden shoes, or your subscription to Vogue; it simply means that you have to know when an item that is worth hundreds can be obtained for much less. So you want the best of everything? So did the wealthy woman down the street who sold all her gear to the second-hand store. Shopping is fun, and bargain hunting is satisfying. None of us are above picking up that penny from off the sidewalk, especially when we have a future to consider. Find ways to reduce your spending that don’t greatly compromise your comfort level. Start clipping coupons, but only use them for things you already use or know you’ll like. Cancel your newspaper subscription and get your news on the Internet instead. Learn how to do your own facials and manicures. Don’t go out to the movies unless your date is paying. Don’t upgrade to DVD if you already have VHS. Turn your heat down and drag a blanket around with you instead. You can eliminate spending in all sorts of ways as long as you can clearly see where your money goes.
