Life Planning Get a computer and learn how to use it Even if your house or apartment provides minimal space, a computer is a very practical tool for maximizing the time you spend shut in your house. No matter where you live, access to the internet is like having a window to the world. If you have internet access you can take advantage of all sorts of information, communication, work at home opportunities, internet shopping, internet auctioning (a good way to get rid of things you don’t need and acquire things for little money), Craigslist.org, internet dating, games, message boards, and the list goes on. Although some can be spendy, also invest in a color printer. If you can get a digital camera as well, you can send and make your own photographs on your computer (no more messing around with expensive and earth-unfriendly film developing). If you are the creative type, the sky’s the limit for the ways you can make your computer work for you. If you are not yet a computer savvy person, it will take some time to learn (classes are available at Comp USA and other computer stores), but it will be worth it, and knowing about computers is necessary for keeping up with what’s going on in the world today. |
