Establish or continue with education & career goals

True, you may not have enough time or money to finish that degree you started within the four years you had originally designated for the project, but you will be able to fit in one or maybe two classes each semester until your life frees up a bit. If you are half-way through your educational goals, don’t give up now! If you haven’t established any educational goals yet, this next year might be a great time to figure out what you really want to do, and go for it. Visit your local college or university financial aid office and find out about any financial aid or grants that are available to you.

This is also a good time to identify those activities you find most satisfying and start devising ways to supplement your income through those activities, but don’t give up your day job just yet. See if you can make some money on the side with your hobby or a special skill (examples: painting, knitting, dog walking, candle making, personal shopping, writing articles or reviews for your local paper, sewing, direct marketing, etc.) without investing any more than a hundred dollars up-front, and ascertain whether or not this has any career potential. Now is not the time to be making any financial risks, but it’s always a good time to lay the groundwork for your master plan.
